Synergy Theater’s “Improvised Law and Order” – A Spontaneous Mockery of Justice is Served!
Synergy Theater’s debut of Improvised Law and Order: A Spontaneous Mockery of Justice! is a hilarious tribute to the legendary cops-and-courtroom television show, currently performing at the Lesher Center for the Arts (1601 Civic Drive) in Walnut Creek, CA. through Sunday, January 26.
Those familiar with the TV show will thoroughly enjoy this two-act production. In the first act there is a murder. The cops and detectives investigate, and by the end of the act they arrest a suspect. Then, in act two, the district attorneys try the case in court. Will the murder be solved? Will the jury convict? And will law and order finally prevail?
“The TV show is famous for dealing with relevant themes and social issues that are plucked from the headlines,” said Kenn Adams, the company’s Artistic Director. “It’s the perfect style for Synergy Theater because that’s what we try to do, blend the humor oof improvisational theater with important themes and issues worth thinking about.”
The cast, featuring artistic director Kenn Adams, Griffen Davis Bier, Adrian Bosada, Justin Carns, sound and music director Arastoo Darakhshan, Elyse Iovino, Rachel Kumaar, Addam Ledamyen, Ben Piper, Valerie Regalia, Lynn Shields, set designer Eileen Tumlin and costume designer Nikki Vilas, is terrific as it blends the humor of improvisational theater with themes of the TV show. At the end of the show, the audience becomes the jury and decides if the suspect is guilty or not. And it's all made up on the spot!"
Every show is completely different because it’s IMPROVISED live for each audience. For those who come to multiple shows you will enjoy entirely different Law & Order episodes as each production is based on the audience’s suggestions! It’s a real hoot, and laughter is definitely served!
Each show is approx. 1 hour 55 minutes, with one intermission. Next up for Synergy Theater will be its ferocious improv comedy Improvised Dungeons & Dragons: A Fantasy Quest, performing April 3-13, 2025. For tickets or more information please visit www.lesherartscenter.org or phone (925) 943-7469.
