“Funny Women of A Certain Age” Delivers a Laugh-Packed Evening at The Bankhead Theater

“Funny Women of A Certain Age” is a laugh-filled stage performance by a team of four of the funniest women in comedy. Performing recently at the Bankhead Theater (2400 First Street) in Livermore, CA., these seasoned comediennes provided an evening of side-splitting humor that left the audience rolling in the aisles. The 90-minute show (with no intermission), featuring Carole Montgomery, Julia Scotti, Monique Marvez and Barb North, offered a barrage of hilarious anecdotes to sharp wit, keeping the audience entertained from start to finish, showing it never gets too old to be funny.

As the creator of “Funny Women of A Certain Age” Carole Montgomery has had a long and varied career. With over two dozen television credits to her name, she is a respected veteran of the standup comedy scene nationwide. In addition to her numerous television appearances, she has headlined clubs and colleges across the country, and starred to two different Las Vegas production shows. According to Montgomery, “If I had to choose between ageism or sexism, I’d take a pat on the behind any day, since that meant someone noticed me.”

Julia Scotti, an American transgender stand-up comedian, continues to break down barriers in every facet of show business, proving that age is not just a number, it’s an asset! She remains a fan favorite of “America’s Got Talent” audiences around the world, and her three appearances appear on YouTube with over a million views on each!

Monique Marvez, a Hispanic American comedian, film producer and actress, is a versatile performer known for her quick wit and hilarious observations about life, relationships, and various cultural topics. She has done stand-up, radio, TV, writing, podcasting and YouTube.

Barb North is the shorter half of a married team (with husband Steve). Barb offered some quirky tips about old age and marriage, reminding the audience that it was Jackie Gleason, as Ralph Kramden, who wanted to send his stage wife, Alice Kramden, “to the moon!” While Barb North appeared at the Bankhead on-stage delivering a humorous dialogue, her husband Steve appeared nearby off-stage to offer his own quips.

Quick-witted, hysterical, and focusing on girl power, “Funny Women of A Certain Age” is captivating and a mesmerizing show that promises to have you laughing in stitches.
