TRAVEL & ENTERTAINMENT: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Guitarist Don Felder to Perform at Livermore's Bankhead Theater

Mar 07, 2019
Four time Grammy Award winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member, Don Felder arrives on March 18 to perform at the Bankhead Theatre (2400 First Street) in Livermore, CA., making a stop on tour ahead of the release of his new album “American Rock ‘N’ Roll.” He is renowned for his lyrical, signature guitar work as a former lead guitarist of The Eagles, one of the most popular and influential rock groups of our time. The guitar solo on the iconic chart-topping hit, “Hotel California,” which Felder co-wrote, was named the best in history by Guitarist magazine.

Felder was a member of the Eagles for 27 years, putting his mark on numerous milestones for the legendary group. In addition to the Grammy Award-winning “Hotel California,” he was celebrated for his guitar work on such fan favorites as “One of These Nights” and “New Kid in Town.” The Eagles “Greatest Hits (1971-1975),” which featured Felder on “Lyin’ Eyes,” “Take it to the Limit” and other songs, has sold more than 38 million copies making it the best-selling album of the 20th Century according to the Recording Industry Association of America. “Hotel California” is ranked third.

A true American rock and roll guitar hero, Felder earned his nickname “Fingers” from his many years in the industry as a sought-after soloist and sessions guitarist. In his early years as a teenager in Gainesville, Florida, he formed a band with Stephen Stills and, although the two split off to follow different paths, they have played together many times since. Over the years, Felder has also performed with numerous music legends across genres including The Bee Gees, Joni Mitchell, Michael Jackson, Stevie Nicks, Vince Gill, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Barbra Streisand, and many more. His solo albums, “Airborne” and “Road to Forever,” separated by decades of music-making, reflect his personal journey through the world of rock and roll. He is also a New York Times bestselling author for his memoir “Heaven and Hell: My Life in The Eagles.”

“American Rock ‘N’ Roll,” the title track off Felder’s upcoming album was released in January 2019 and features performances by Felder and Slash, as well as Mick Fleetwood on drums. His first solo album in seven years, it covers the full range of his versatile style, from high-energy rockers to touching, thoughtful ballads. It will be released on April 5, 2019.

For tickets or more information please visit or call 925-373-6800. Tickets for Don Felder’s single performance at the Bankhead Theater range from $20 to over $100 for a VIP package, which includes an exclusive meet and greet opportunity.
