Luther Burbank Center for the Arts has announced that it will welcome music legend Gordon Lightfoot as part of his “80 Years Strong Tour” on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, and prolific actor John Cusack as part of “The Backlot Project” on Friday, March 15, 2019.

After more than 50 active years of hit song making and international album sales well into the multi-millions, it’s safe to say that esteemed singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot resides with some very exclusive company atop the list of all-time musician greats. Lightfoot has recorded 20 albums and has five Grammy Award nominations. His songs have aired regularly for more than 50 years, earning him radio singles chart positions in North America achieved by few others. In June of 2012, Lightfoot’s legacy was further enhanced when he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and was honored for his role in defining the folk-pop sound of the 1960s and 1970s. In his native Canada, Lightfoot has been decorated with the highest honors bestowed to a civilian including the Governor’s General Award and the Companion to the Order of Canada honor of merit. He has also won 17 Juno Awards—Canada’s equivalent to the Grammy Awards and has been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame as well as the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame.

With an impressive body of work spanning the course of four decades, John Cusackhas evolved into one of Hollywood’s most accomplished and respected actors of his generation, garnering both critical acclaim as well as prestigious accolades for his dramatic and comedic roles. In April 2012, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce presented Cusack with the 2,469th Hollywood Walk of Fame star, honoring his long, ground-breaking career in film. As part of The Backlot Project, which brings the most beloved stars of television and film from the screen to an exciting and intimate live setting, Cusack will share stories from his career spanning roles in over 70 films, answer audience questions, and give a behind-the-scenes look into “High Fidelity,” following a screening of the iconic film based on Nick Hornby's English novel of the same title.
